Igor Bolgarin has been a teacher at the Department of Film and Photography at the Moscow Institute of Culture since 1974. In 1979 he was awarded the academic title of associate professor. Since 2002, the filmmaker has been a member of the National Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Russia
Igor Bolgarin was the director of two feature films – “The Return of Veronica” and “The Southern Cross Above Us”. He was also the author of the script for 34 feature films (among them “On the Count’s Ruins”, “Dersu Uzala”, “His Excellency’s Adjutant”, “Hard Kilometers”, the series of films “The Thought of Kovpak”), as well as the television series “Nine lives of Nestor Makhno.”
