Fertilizer producers in the EU began to stop factories due to gas prices

The Lithuanian fertilizer plant Achema will suspend work from September 1 due to a sharp increase in gas prices and production costs. This was announced on August 24 by the general director of the company, Ramunas Miliauskas.
The top manager, quoted by LRT (Lithuanian Radio and Television), noted that due to high gas prices, fertilizers produced by the company are becoming uncompetitive compared to products from Russia and the United States. “In such a market situation, most Western manufacturers are forced to stop their factories, Achema is no exception,” he said.
