FAS opened a case against the manufacturer Estel

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation has opened an antimonopoly case against Unicosmetik, which produces hair cosmetics under the Estel brand. About it it says in the department’s Telegram channel.

The reason was an appeal from IFB (sells hair products under the Kapous brand), which accused Unicosmetic of unfair competition and violation of antitrust laws.

The company claims that since 2017, Kapous and Estel have simultaneously marketed product lines called Blond bar. However, in 2021, Unicosmetics registered the trademark “Blond bar couture”, after which it demanded that IFB abandon the name of the Kapous line.

The FAS said that to consider the case against Estel, a commission will be created that will check the activities of Unicosmetik for violations of the law on the protection of competition.
