The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia issued a warning to the co-owner of Vnukovo Vitaly Vantsev. This happened after Mr. Vantsev said that the cost of tickets for international flights could increase by 40% in 2023. The FAS believes that this statement could provoke a rise in prices.
“FAS has issued a warning in connection with a public statement about the increase in airfare. Such statements can be perceived as an incentive to act to increase prices by business entities operating in the market for the sale of air tickets and air transportation, ”the message on the FAS website says.
Earlier today, in response to a question RBC About what kind of price increase for air tickets should be expected in 2023, Vitaly Vantsev suggested that on international flights the price increase could be about 40%.
Commenting on this statement, Deputy Minister of Transport Igor Chalik saidthat there are no grounds for such a rise in prices. After that, the FAS and the Prosecutor General’s Office began checking airlines and airports throughout Russia.
