FAS has opened four more cases against egg producers – Kommersant

The departments of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) for the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Voronezh, Ivanovo, and Kemerovo regions identified violations of the law on the protection of competition in the actions of several chicken egg producers. Four antimonopoly cases were initiated, reported press service of the FAS Russia.
According to the service, violations were committed by:
- in the Voronezh region – Bobrovskaya Poultry Farm LLC, Agricultural Production Enterprise Zabrodenskoye LLC, Ryaba LLC and an agricultural production cooperative under the Tretyakovskaya Poultry Farm brand: in October they allowed an increase in weighted average wholesale prices from 16% to 37% compared to September;
- in the Ivanovo region – JSC “Kineshemskaya Poultry Farm” and LLC “Ivanovo Poultry Farm”: allowed prices to rise from 18% to 23%;
- in the Kemerovo region – chicken egg producers Inskaya Poultry Farm LLC and Yashkinskaya Poultry Farm LLC (part of the same group): prices for chicken eggs increased by 31–40%;
- in the DPR – Novoazovskaya Poultry Farm LLC, Proletarskaya Poultry Farm LLC, Zugressky Reproductor LLC, Amvrosievskaya Poultry Farm LLC: allowed prices to rise from 9% to 24%.
“If facts of such behavior of market participants are revealed, our territorial departments initiate cases on grounds of violation of the Law on Protection of Competition. Now there are six such regions – the Kirov, Kemerovo, Voronezh, Ivanovo regions and a number of others,” commented the head of the FAS, Maxim Shaskolsky.
Retail egg prices rose sharply in November. In December, eggs became one of the most expensive products: their price rose by 10–20% in 46 regions of the Russian Federation. On December 14, during the “Results of the Year,” President Vladimir Putin said that the reason for the increase in prices for chicken meat and eggs was an increase in demand. A similar point of view expressed Head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina. December 15 FAS excited cases against egg producers in Crimea and the Kirov region.
