FAS accused MegaFon of unreasonable overpricing

In May 2022, MegaFon increased tariffs by an average of 12% for 16.5 million users without an economic basis for that, representatives of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) considered. In this regard, the regulator recognized the telecom operator as a violator of antitrust laws and ordered it to reduce the cost of services.
“The service ordered Megafon to reduce them (prices.— “b”) to an economically justified level … Also, a turnover fine will be imposed on the telecom operator, its amount will be determined in the course of an administrative investigation, ”reported in Telegram regulator.
The case against MegaFon on the increase in tariffs was excited FAS October 13th. Representatives of the operator claimed that the company informed the FAS in advance about the increase in the cost of services.
