Farmers reduce the purchase of complex fertilizers in favor of simple ones

Agricultural producers did not fulfill the plan for the purchase of complex fertilizers (they consist of several active ingredients) by about 20%. Such figures were given at a meeting with the head of the crop production department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Roman Nekrasov, on May 12, two participants told Vedomosti.
The plan itself, broken down by regions, types of fertilizers and suppliers, was agreed by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Industry and Trade back in June 2022. It is necessary as a measure to contain domestic prices for such products. In November last year, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Andrey Razin said that from June 1, 2022 to May 31, 2023, farmers will have to purchase more than 14 million tons of fertilizers in physical weight. And, as Nekrasov said at a meeting of the Ministry of Agriculture, the plan “as a whole” was fulfilled, but with a bias in favor of simple fertilizers.
