Famed French choreographer Pierre Lacotte dies

French dancer and choreographer Pierre Lacotte has died at the age of 92. This was reported by his wife Ghylen Tesmar. She said that the choreographer died in a clinic in the south of France.
Lacotte worked to preserve classical ballet and collaborated, among other things, with the Bolshoi Theater, where in 2000 he staged the ballet The Pharaoh’s Daughter. In 2011, he staged the ballet “La Sylphide” at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Musical Theater
The choreographer took part in the gala concert opening the Historical Stage of the Bolshoi Theater after reconstruction. Among Russian cities, he also worked in St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk.
