Fabien Delettres, Guillaume Genton and Diane Leyre unveil their radio morning

To succeed Manu Payet and his band, Virgin Radio is betting on a morning show produced by Cyril Hanouna with a trio formed by Guillaume Genton, Fabien Delettres and Diane Leyer. The latter, Miss France 2022will reconcile her lavish end-of-year schedule as a beauty queen with that of the “Morning without filter” broadcast live from Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

LE FIGARO. – How does a Miss France in exercise find herself at the head of a morning radio?
Diane LEYRE. – It’s a first, it’s true. By chance, I met Cyril Hanouna during a Paris Saint-Germain football match at the Parc des Princes. We talked a lot, we got on well and at that time he was looking for a host for the future Virgin Radio morning show. He suggested I do some testing.

Did you hesitate to accept?
DL- I didn’t really know how to position myself, I didn’t know if I had the right to do so as Miss France in title. He convinced me to come and have a few tests, it worked well and Alexia Laroche-Joubert gave me her consent. I sacrifice my hours of sleep to integrate this morning but my role of Miss France remains my priority. I will not neglect my title and I will go to all my performances. Thanks to the radio, I will be able to speak every morning to all the French people who will listen to us.

How are you going to reconcile your imperatives of Miss France and this morning?
DL- I saw with the Miss France organization so that I could return to Paris in the evening after my weekly performances. Regional elections are usually in the evening from Friday to Sunday so I can be in the studio in the morning. And during the preparation trip for the candidates for the election of Miss France 2023, I will be in Guadeloupe and I will do duplexes.

Does this first experience as a radio host call for others later?
DL- I will see how I blossom in this role. It’s a great opportunity to be able to do it a few months before the end of my reign. Am I going to feel comfortable? Will I realize that the media is not for me? I don’t know yet, I feel like saying it’s the start of something. I’ve been Miss France for eight months, I’m almost out of date! (Laughs.) I live a very intense experience and I take full advantage of it.

How was the team for this morning put together?
Guillaume GENTON. – It was Cyril Hanouna who made the choices by combining several talents he identified. By chance, I hosted a bonus on C8 at the end of last year which was in fact a pledge and that’s when Cyril had the idea of ​​putting me at the head of this morning show. He had heard me on Europe 1 several years ago and he had wanted me to come back on the air for a long time. I was surprised, I did not expect to do radio again but I am very honored.
DL- I had met Guillaume when I came to “Touche pas à mon poste! » and I discovered Fabien during our tests. It matched immediately between the three of us, we quickly laughed a lot together.

Fabien DELETTRES. – I have been working in Cyril’s shadow for 17 years, my job is to write jokes to him, even if he is already very funny naturally. I was by his side ten years ago when he hosted the Virgin Radio morning show and he asked me to come back on the air. I did some tests and our trio immediately worked even though we didn’t know each other at all.

What will this Virgin Radio morning news look like?
GG- We are going to stand out from the competition by dealing with media news in the broad sense of the term. We are going to come back to the subjects that are talked about in the media with a young treatment and a lot of good humor. We will not deal with politics or heavy topics. It’s a bias and a risk but it’s something we know how to do. We will give the floor to listeners and people who make the news, known or not. And as the name of the show suggests, we will be unfiltered in our comments and we will have clear-cut opinions.

Is it possible to be truly unfiltered when still wearing Miss France’s scarf?
DL- It is a choice to make. We know that we will not discuss certain subjects such as politics for example. When you are Miss France, you represent all the French and, in this morning, I have the impression that I am going to speak for all the French. On topical issues, I also want to make people hear what people in the regions have been able to tell me. The opinion of the French is decided and mine will be too. Since my election, I have always been very cash and I have always said what I thought. Nothing will change.

Guillaume, with this morning to manage, will we see you less often this season in “Touche pas à mon poste! »?
GG- I will organize my days and try to sleep by taking micronaps like Cristiano Ronaldo. (Laughs.) I intend to continue “TPMP” and I hope that Cyril will allow me to do so. Nothing is acquired for anyone. Like on a football team, if you’re not good, you’re not selected. The goal is to be able to do everything well without exhausting myself. I reorganized my schedule and took a coach to have a healthier life with the necessary sleep times.
