The Rosrybkhoz Association, which brings together companies specializing in the cultivation of fish, proposes to “establish restrictive barriers” for the export of fishmeal and fish oil. Vasily Glushchenko, chairman of the board of the association, addressed the director of the fisheries regulation department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Yevgeny Katz, with such an initiative in a letter dated June 16. A copy of it is at the disposal of Vedomosti, the ministry confirmed receipt of the document.
The proposal was sent in preparation for the meeting of the government commission for the development of the fishery complex, which was to be held on July 4. It was instructed to conduct it by Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko. Its representative said that the meeting will be held on July 18, but the agenda does not yet include the issue of limiting the export of flour and fish. “It can be raised on its own initiative,” the interlocutor added. What kind of restrictions Rosrybkhoz proposes to introduce is not indicated in his letter. The association did not respond to Vedomosti’s request.
