In 2023, the Primorsky interregional department of Rosselkhoznadzor issued 24,139 shipments of fish and seafood for export with a total weight of 1,926,927.2 tons. This is 72% higher than the same figure for 2022, it says message departments.

The main importer of fish and seafood is China, where 1,305,137.3 tons were supplied last year (an increase of 3.3 times compared to 2022). Also major importers of fish and seafood from Primorye and Sakhalin are South Korea (557,300.6 tons), Japan (26,239.3 tons), Nigeria (15,742.5 tons) and Thailand (11,099.8 tons).

Among the importing countries last year were Cyprus, the UAE, Chile, Togo and Georgia. In total, products from the Primorsky Territory and the Sakhalin Region were registered in 20 countries. “Among the types of products most in demand among importers are pollock, cod, and live crab,” informs the Primorsky Interregional Department of Rosselkhoznadzor.
