One of the popular entertainment Telegram channels launched an advertisement for a resource called “State Services on Telegram” with an avatar similar to the logo of the official “State Services”. The channel is closed – to join you need to submit an application. When trying to log in, the user gets to the bot and sees a message with a new link. “Respectable administrators certainly wouldn’t need to implement multiple links to accept subscribers to a channel. Most likely, the link, both the first and the second, will be phishing, malicious, with the goal of hacking an account or gaining access to other data on the phone,” experts explained to RIA Novosti.

Moshelovka experts noted that there are also many other fake channels on Telegram under the guise of official departments. “The purposes of their creation can vary greatly – from simply attracting subscribers with a big name to involving them in fraudulent schemes,” experts said. Verified channels are regularly published by the Explain.rf portal. They are marked with a blue tick.
