Evraz will not be able to present financial statements for 2022 due to the absence of an auditor

Metals and mining company Evraz is likely to be unable to publish its 2022 annual report and IFRS report in due time, as it was unable to attract an auditor due to sanctions imposed by the UK. This is stated in a press release from Evraz, which leads TASS.
According to company representatives, Evraz has sent numerous requests to British audit companies, but none of them has agreed to act as its auditor in the preparation of the annual report and results under IFRS.
Evraz is an international company with assets in Russia, the USA, Canada, the Czech Republic and Kazakhstan. It is one of the world’s leading steel producers. The largest shareholder of Evraz as of February 16, 2022 is Roman Abramovich (28.64%).
“The deadline for the preparation and publication of the annual report and audited financial results for the previous financial year is April 30, 2023. Given all of the above, Evraz is likely to be unable to prepare and publish its annual report and audited financial statements in accordance with disclosure rules, as well as approve and submit audited financial results to the UK Companies House.
On March 10, 2022, the UK imposed sanctions on the largest shareholder of Evraz, Roman Abramovich. On the same day, the British regulator of financial markets suspended listing of company shares. May 5 to the UK sanctions list was included and Evraz itself.
