“Every day, there’s a new discovery” – Kommersant FM

Exhibition life in the capital is bubbling like a Kamchatka geyser. Every day there is a new discovery. Even I don’t have time to go everywhere, but I can recommend the most notable events.

Let’s start with the fact that since the beginning of the new art season, in less than a month, the third new and large exhibition and educational multifunctional space has opened in Moscow.

First, the Sistema gallery presented the second building of its premises on Bobrovy Lane between Myasnitskaya and Sretenka, more than doubling the exhibition space and, through Anastasia Volkova, announcing further growth through a separate building for art residences. In the meantime, here is a large-scale multi-part personal project of Rostan Tavasiev.

Then, at the corner of Spiridonovka and Vspolny Lane on Patriarch’s, a huge, 700-meter Askeri Club space. Here, on two and a half floors, there will be exhibitions, concerts, lectures and private charity dinners, as sisters Polina and Angelina Askeri said.

The club opened with an exhibition of three artists from different parts of the world: Juan Antonio Palacios from Spain, Kwan Yong Chan from South Korea and our nonconformist Yuri Cooper.

And just on Wednesday evening, the new space was finally opened by the Stella Art Foundation. “Finally”, because after six years of Stella Kesaeva’s commissionership in the Russian Pavilion in Venice and the foundation’s rather quiet stay in a small room in Skaryatinsky, it moved to the second floor of the Mercury Tower in Moscow City, where it opened a grandiose exhibition of two pillars of modern social art: sculptors Boris Orlov and Sergei Shekhovtsov. And, again, he announces an extensive program of cultural promotion: lectures, meetings, concerts…

In general, we have the most interesting “Russian seasons” ahead of us literally next door. And I have not yet mentioned individual exhibition projects, for example, the grandiose personal exhibition of Alexander Ponomarev in the Engineering Building of the Tretyakov Gallery in Lavrushinsky, which, of course, is a separate story.
