Erdogan invited Musk to open a Tesla plant in Turkey

On September 17, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met in New York with businessman and Tesla owner Elon Musk. This was reported by the Public Relations Department of the Turkish Presidential Administration on X (formerly Twitter).
During the meeting, Erdogan told Musk about Turkey’s achievements in the field of technology and urged him to build Tesla’s seventh plant in the republic. He also announced the possibility of cooperation between Turkey and SpaceX as part of the space program.
In addition, the Turkish leader invited Musk to the Teknofest aviation, space and technology festival, which will be held in Izmir.
Currently, Tesla electric cars are produced at six factories, four of which are in the United States, and two more in China and Germany. Tesla’s first plant opened in 2010 in California. Then production started at plants in Nevada and New York. In 2019, the Tesla plant opened in Shanghai, and in 2022 – Texas and Brandenburg. The number of company employees exceeds 70,000.
