Erdogan confirmed that he agreed with Putin to create a gas hub in Turkey

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the Ministry of Energy is working on the construction of a new gas hub in the republic. Previously with such an offer to him addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Turkish President stressed that the hub will be created as soon as possible. The most suitable place for it is in the European part of the country.
“As already stated, for such a distribution center, of course, Thrace (a geographical area in the east of the Balkans.— “b”) is considered as the most suitable location. Together with Mr. Putin, we instructed our Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the relevant department on the Russian side to work together. We hope that we will create this center in the most suitable place. We have a national distribution center, but, of course, now it will be an international distribution center,” Mr. Erdogan told reporters upon his return from the CIS summit in Astana (quoted from NTV).
Corresponding instructions from the Turkish and Russian authorities were made in relation to the Turkish Ministry of Energy and the Russian Gazprom. “The departments will immediately start working together. We are taking all kinds of security measures and are conducting preliminary work in this direction,” Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.
