Equinor withdraws from joint Kharyaga PSA with Russia

The Norwegian company Equinor announced the completion of the withdrawal from the Kharyaga Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) in Russia. This was said in a statement. Thus, Equinor left the last joint project with Russia.
“Equinor confirms that the complete withdrawal from Kharyaga has been completed. As part of the exit, Equinor, in accordance with applicable sanctions, covered the decommissioning obligations accrued and owed to Equinor over the years. After leaving Kharyaga, Equinor has no assets or projects in Russia,”— reported in company.
The Kharyaga oil field is located on the territory of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug beyond the Arctic Circle. Equinor’s subsidiary Statoil Kharyaga AS worked on the Kharyaga project. She owned 30% of the project. 20% was owned by Total Intelligence Russia, a subsidiary of the French Total Energies. French company completed transfer of its share in the Kharyag PSA to Zarubezhneft on 26 August.
Prior to the start of the military operation, Zarubezhneft owned 20% in the Kharyaga PSA. Now its share is 90%. 10% belongs to the Nenets Oil Company.
