Enterprises nationalized in Crimea will start selling in 2023

The sale of nationalized enterprises in Crimea will begin in 2023, said the head of the State Council of the Republic, Vladimir Konstantinov, writes TASS.

“It must be borne in mind that the sale [национализированных объектов] means obtaining the maximum profit for our republic. All conditions have been created for this. But this process is not fast, the cost of some enterprises is estimated at billions of rubles. The sale will start this year,” he told reporters after the next parliamentary session.

Konstantinov stressed that the transactions will take into account investment and development guarantees. According to him, it is important for the Crimean authorities that “a person not only take the enterprise and then think about resale,” but also develop it.

“I am absolutely convinced that we will find worthy investors who will continue production for the benefit of Crimea,” Konstantinov said.

In February, Konstantinov announced the nationalization of the Crimean assets of a number of foreign businessmen and Ukrainian banks, including enterprises of entrepreneurs Rinat Akhmetov and Igor Kolomoisky, ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Ukrainian deputy Nestor Shufrich, Lithuanian businessman Kolas Igoris and others. Kamysh-Burun iron ore plant, assets of 12 Ukrainian banks, a refrigeration plant in Krasnoperekopsk, etc.

February 19 Konstantinov declaredthat about 700 objects of Ukrainian entrepreneurs and politicians were nationalized in Crimea. He reported that the nationalized property would be put up for auction after the completion of the evaluation procedure. At that time, the deadlines were not determined, since a significant amount of work needed to be done, Konstantinov added. As a result, the property, according to him, will be transferred to “interested owners who will deal with it and develop it for the benefit of our country and our people.”

On October 18, 2022, the Crimean parliament adopted a law allowing the property of unfriendly foreign states and their citizens to be recognized as the property of the republic. We are talking about land plots and other objects of movable and immovable property that were owned as of February 24, 2022. At the end of October, the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, ordered the nationalization of enterprises and individuals associated with the political leadership of Ukraine.
