British musician Elton John sang at the Glastonbury Music Festival as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour. This may be his last concert in his homeland, according to AFP and Reuters.
The 76-year-old musician played a concert yesterday, June 25, at the Pyramid Stage, which is considered the most prestigious. His performance closed the festival. He took the stage in a golden suit and started the concert with the song “Pinball Wizard”, which he had not performed in over ten years. He also featured such hits as “Bennie and the Jets”, “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”, “Your Song”, “Candle in the Wind”, “Tiny Dancer”, “I’m Still Standing”, “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart. The final song was “Rocket Man”, and fireworks were also launched at the end.
Elton John began his farewell tour back in 2018, but he had to take a break due to the pandemic. The tour has 333 concerts and will end on July 8 in Stockholm. As The Sunday Times wrote, the expected fees from the tour are estimated at more than $ 1 billion, which will be a record.
