Elton John completes farewell tour – Kommersant

Elton John held his last concert as part of his farewell tour. The 76-year-old British musician ended the show with Goodbye Yellow Brick Road from a 1973 album.
The concert was held at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm. The singer confirmed before wrapping up that he would “never tour again” but didn’t rule out something “one off” sometime in the future “miles away” from Stockholm.
“I had the most wonderful career, which is unbelievable. 52 years of the pure joy of playing music,” he said (quoted from The Guardian). Elton John thanked his fans: “Playing for you guys was a source of life for me, you were just great, thank you. I will never forget you.”
Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour began in 2018. During this time, Elton John gave about 330 concerts. The fees, according to The Sunday Times, will exceed $ 1 billion. Even when the singer gave 278 concerts, his tour was recognized as the highest grossing in history. At that time, about $818 million had been collected.
