Elena Proklova denied membership in any parties: “I have never joined”

At the age of 11, Lena Proklova showed great promise in rhythmic gymnastics. But sport faded into the background for her when the girl was accidentally met by director Alexander Mitta, who was looking for a heroine to play the role of a schoolgirl in his film “They call, open the door!”. Proklova was taken to the role outside the casting, which was passed by more than 11 thousand schoolgirls. The fifth grader was awarded by Mosfilm for “Best Actress”. Almost immediately after that, she was asked to play Gerda in the film The Snow Queen. In 1967, this picture was released and instantly won the love of the audience. Then Proklova starred in the films “Transitional Age” and “Burn, Burn, My Star.” It was then that Proklova decided that she would connect her life with cinema, and entered the Moscow Art Theater School. This theater gave Elena many interesting roles. During the twenty years that she worked there, she played in almost all the leading performances of the Moscow Art Theater, including The Cherry Orchard, The Blue Bird, Valentin and Valentina, Amadeus and many others.

The famous actress is looking for the good in everything. For example, she started this year by playing New Year’s performances in a wheelchair. “Accidentally, at a rehearsal, my leg turned up and … got a fracture! Age already, what do you want?” – Proklova then said in an interview with MK, and added, “they say, but I will pump up the muscles in my arms and on my back without going to the gym.” Last year, Elena suffered a stroke and continued to play performances during the recovery period. For Proklova herself, everything that happened was a reward, because she did not cancel a single performance and did not let her audience down. “In addition to the pain, I received a lot of love and gratitude from people. So in my injury there are two sides of the same coin, ”Elena Proklova said then.

“For me, 70 years is the milestone that not everyone lives up to,” Honored Artist of Russia Elena Proklova began her interview with MK. – There is something to think about and answer some questions for yourself. Therefore, I left high in the mountains, where I will be without evening dresses and high heels, without jewelry and without people. I will meditate and think.

For me, it’s also Thanksgiving. I have a very happy fate and I have something to thank both fate and the creator for. And all the people with whom I have passed through this life. My deep gratitude to them. Today I will give thanks.

– Tell us about your new big house in Sochi.

– I bought land there and I want to meet the last farewell decade of my life there, in the mountains. This large house, built on my own design with a sea view, I wanted to build it in the style of a chalet. It has a place for a brother, and a husband, and children, and grandchildren. From my house to the sea less than two kilometers.

– Why did you call this decade the last one?

“I don’t think I have many decades left. I would like to spend this time in a special way – in warmth, beauty and with a view of the sea. But I’m not going to leave my acting career. There is life in Sochi too, and no one bothers to fly to performances. I think that I will not be bored there, my whole family, friends will come to me.

Who are you celebrating your anniversary with?

– It is customary to gather people, acquaintances and famous people, etc. for the anniversary. I won’t please anyone this time. On the contrary, I want to spend this anniversary alone. Well, maybe only with your loved ones. I will be glad if my daughters come.

– Maybe you are expecting the title of “People’s Artist” for the anniversary?

– I think no. In order to become a people’s artist, as well as a well-deserved one, the institution in which you work must send a request, explain why. And I’m a free bird! I don’t serve anywhere so they can ask for me.

– What is your most desired gift?

– The arrival of my daughters.

– Are you now invited to act in films?

– They invite, but they offer such unconvincing roles …. I tried to make them twice, but was disappointed in the modern form of work. Or I’m out of luck. Do not want. I work with great pleasure in the theater, I get great pleasure from my profession.

– Why did you leave the Moscow Art Theater in 1990, in which you played leading roles for 12 years?

I love freedom too much. It is difficult for me to be a subordinate person. Therefore, I chose the path of complete independence and responsibility for myself. And I enjoy this life so far.

Which of your film roles do you talk about with trepidation?

– There are films with my participation that are better than others, but it seems to me that this happens thanks to the directors. I do not consider any of my films to be significant. The film “Burn, burn, my star”, “Confusion of feelings”, some others, but they do not have my merit, I am a simple ordinary worker. An actress who is just lucky to work with good directors and great partners. Well, my main strength is theater, not cinema.

– What role of a historical character would you play in a movie or on a theater stage without rehearsals?

– This is a very traditional question that has never had anything to do with me. I think that my profession is work, so it does not depend on me what I play, but on those who offer me these roles. Therefore, whatever they offer, I will play it with pleasure.

– What one of your roles would be enough to remain in history as an actress?

– I do not know the actors who remain in history. At the most, they remember actors for 30-40 years. Therefore, in my opinion, it is unrealistic for an artist to remain in history.

When and why did you get involved in politics?

I have never been a member of any party.

– I do not have a personal website that I would lead. And I never climb into those sites that are incomprehensible to me personalities on my behalf. Although I know that there are such sites, because I am not very friendly with the Internet and I am not very interested in everything that happens on it.

Do you blog or even social media?

– No no no. Sometimes my friends put up some of my photos from trips or vacations for me, thanks to them for that. But I don’t do it.

– Your colleagues have recently somehow actively harnessed themselves to politics, they tirelessly talk about the NWO …

– Oh, no, I’m not friends with politics at all. In addition, I can say that I am an absolute patriot of my country. And even if I do not like what is happening in it, I believe that it is my duty to be a patriot.

– Who keeps the world?

– I am a rather prosaic person and I can’t say something about the greats of this world, because I don’t really believe in it. All my hope is in my children, in my daughters.

What have you not told anyone yet?

– There is no such. It seems that you journalists have asked me about everything you can. I didn’t hide anything and never will. I tell honestly about everything that happens to me, because from childhood I got used to the attention of journalists. And I got used to answering questions – that’s how my parents raised me.

You have a very young voice…

– I have the same soul (laughs).

– And you look beautiful, many envy you.

– This is again not my merit.

– Plastic surgeons? You never hid that you used their services…

– Yes, I ran, of course, but how? I’m an artist.

Are you grateful to them for your appearance?

– Yes, after my accident they sewed it up successfully. And you can’t even see anything on your face. And in general, it seems to me that this is the service that an actress should use.

– Do you have any regrets?

“Well, really, nothing.

Marriages, children, grandchildren of Elena Proklova.

The marriage with her first husband Vitaly Melik-Karamov, a documentary filmmaker, lasted only four years. The second husband of the actress was the doctor Alexander Deryabin, the union broke up in the third year. The couple was separated by family grief. Elena first lost her twins, born in the seventh month, and then her son, who lived only 9 days. The third husband of the actress was businessman Andrei Trishin.
