The first thing you want to listen to from the novelties of the last week of the year is, of course, the touching duet of Shura Bi-2 and his daughter Eva with the amazing new name “Snow for the New Year”. However, the genre of the song for Christmas, probably, does not imply obsessive “cleverness”. On the eve of Catholic Christmas, the song appeared on the Web and caused great enthusiasm among fans of not only the work of the Bi-2 group, but also connoisseurs of quality music in general. A magical “slow-motion” about the snow that fell on New Year’s Eve, and people on whose faces this snow “melts instead of tears”, as if to say that it’s better to let the snow melt on their faces than they will be filled with tears …
Interestingly, in the work of many musicians this year, a magical holiday is contrasted with sad moments of life. Of course, the souls of creative people are very receptive and sensitive to all kinds of suffering in the world, and the outgoing year was generous for this. Hence the many hopes that next year will be kinder to everyone. But it was not without frankly depressing stories. “There will be no jingle bells, we’re all about … (fukali), this year is worse than it was at the beginning,” singer Ostap Parfyonov repeats this line on repeat, who sings that 2022 is not allegorical and not half-hinted everyone was very upset by his realities. But the artist still does not lose heart, and towards the end of the track he is seized already at the phrase: “I believe we will fix everything.”
True, not all discouraged people turn into optimists. “I’ll ask Santa for antidepressants, I spent the past year chasing a dream,” Your Daddy sings in the sad song about unhappy love, “I’ll Ask Santa.” The artist also asks the magical Grandfather to put his beloved girl under the Christmas tree – “quietly, smartly, in a dress, and preferably without a dress, but so that everything is according to the laws of the Russian Federation.” Sad irony, especially about the laws of the Russian Federation! I would like to take Your Daddy (as his creative name is translated into Russian) by the hand and introduce her to the singer Prosto Lera, who released the most depressing and dull New Year’s anti-hit “Song about NG”, where she curses winter, asks not to write congratulations to her and burns the Christmas tree, dousing her gasoline, in the hope that there would be no fireworks under her window. “The Christmas tree on Channel One will again be worse than in my childhood … Everything is pointless, the New Year’s snow is melting, and these flakes have gone stupid” – even a one-time listening to this song can destroy all life inside the music lover’s chest and turn off the light in the soul of the most impressionable for a long time. It’s good that there is an antidote for such gloomy songs – the singer Polnayalyubvi and her “New Year’s Lullaby” about all the happiest, the best, the best that is yet to come. Atmospheric and really full of love record is able to heal any spoiled mood.
A new high-quality dance hit in the style of the late 80s appeared that week. And if behind the curtain of the New Year’s track by Oleg Gazmanov, which we already wrote about, the ears of the Swedish band ABBA Happy New Year treacherously stick out, then this time we got a beautiful and high-quality replica on Last Christmas by George Michael and his band Wham!. “New Year’s Song” performed by Yegor Creed, Vlad A4, Jony and The Limba absorbed all the best from the old pop traditions, including a rap monologue from Santa Claus in the style of “Disco Crash”. The clip also suspiciously reminds everyone of the familiar clip from Last Christmas. There is a country house, there is a Christmas tree, a group of friends arrives, and the snowy fun begins… There is only one thing missing in the video – beautiful girls, who were full in the frame around the handsome George Michael. In our version, there are four (I would like to add: black, grimy imps) guys in sweaters with deer go crazy in the country in the forest and dream of finding pure love under the tree in the form of a Snow Maiden. Like one for four, or what?! Yegor Creed said that the clip was filmed in Kazakhstan, away from the Internet. They spent two difficult days at Limba, who brought everyone together.
“You have no idea how we were freaking out on the set! It just didn’t make it into the video. Our dance, which we specially did for the video, was not included, but you will see all this in my other videos, ”Yegor Creed promised his fans on the festive air. “There is such humor here – it is on the forehead, but moreover, it is subtle,” the artist explains. “Not all people, it seems to me, understand this irony.” Oh how! The show “The smartest” is clearly still waiting for its hero …

By the way, perhaps soon the world-favorite song Last Christmas will completely disappear from the face of the earth. An activist group in Sweden is raising funds to buy the rights to the New Year’s song Wham! and remove it from all radio stations, as well as remove it from all Internet resources. Simple Swede Hanna Mazetti has hated the New Year’s hit ever since she listened to it to hiccups at the age of 13 while working in a cafe whose owner polished the brains of visitors on repeat with this song, creating a festive mood. It remains only to wish Hannah never to collect the necessary amount for this terrible act of stealing New Year’s mood from a whole half of the world. A good psychologist will be cheaper, which may well help a woman cope with childhood psychotrauma and leave alone a song loved by millions of people.
In addition to the songs that seemed to “ZD” the most notable, there are also a number of “white” romantic ballads about swirling flakes and snow-covered cities. Taking this opportunity, I would like to remind our artists, calling for all sorts of magical snowfalls with all their voices, that our public utilities do not always cope with the volume of precipitation falling from the sky. One thing pleases: standing in New Year’s traffic jams, there is something to listen to for a festive mood.
