E-commerce revenue in Russia increased by 3.2% in February

The revenue of the Russian e-commerce sector in February increased by 3.2% compared to January, amounting to more than 910 billion rubles, informed Interfax with reference to the data of the Federal Tax Service (FTS) of Russia.
It is noted that the revenue of legal entities amounted to over 880 billion rubles, and individual entrepreneurs – 22.2 billion rubles. Marketplaces accounted for 59% of total online commerce, with a total of 208.5 million unique buyers recorded in February, with an average check of RUB 939.
How wrote earlier, Vedomosti, citing a study by the analytical company Data Insight, the total turnover of the online retail market in Russia in 2022 amounted to 5.7 trillion rubles. Compared to the year before, this figure increased by 38%. In real terms, the growth was about 65% – up to 2.8 billion orders.
Analysts also noted that the main growth in online sales in 2022 was provided by large universal marketplaces. In the second half of 2022, their share reached a record 73% in the total number of orders.
Despite significant growth, the pace of development of this market has slowed down. In 2021, the total turnover of this segment increased by 52% in money terms and by 104% in physical terms compared to the previous year.
