Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin decided to organize duty-free trade for diplomatic missions, as well as for diplomats. Duty-free shops will appear in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Decree dated July 26 comes into force 30 days after the official publication.
“In one subject of the Russian Federation there is one duty-free shop for the diplomatic corps,” follows from the document.
The owner of the duty free shop is a Russian legal entity included in the register of duty free shops. Goods in these stores are sold at retail for Russian rubles, US dollars or euros. An application for the purchase of alcohol for official events in such a store must be signed by the head of the diplomatic mission.
