Meyn, a Dutch manufacturer of equipment for slaughtering, cutting, deboning and processing poultry, ceases operations in Russia. This was told by two chicken producers who received a notification from the company itself. Meyn stops supplying not only equipment, but also spare parts for it, it also ceases to provide services, according to a letter from the company, which Vedomosti has read. The reason for leaving the country is not mentioned in the document. Meyn did not respond to a request.

Industry participants interviewed by Vedomosti say that it will not be easy to find a replacement for the Dutch company. One of the top managers of the poultry enterprise claims that Meyn equipment is installed in 75% of poultry farms, which together produce 90% of the industry’s products. At the end of 2022, Russia produced 5.3 million tons of poultry meat, which is 4% more than a year earlier. Another employee at a large agro-industrial holding adds that problems with the supply of spare parts from Meyn began in February 2022. According to him, the company requested information about the beneficiaries of equipment buyers, demanded disclosure of financial statements, but even in this case did not conclude contracts. “So the final withdrawal from Russia does not look unexpected,” he sums up.
