Telegram CEO and creator Pavel Durov said in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson that he and the rest of the messenger’s employees “pay too much attention to the FBI.” According to him, in particular, American intelligence agencies tried to lure his engineer.

“I’ll give you an example. Last time I was in the US, I had an engineer with me who works for Telegram. Employees or agents in the field of cybersecurity tried to secretly, behind my back, hire my engineer,” said Pavel Durov in interview.

The entrepreneur also said that he does not believe in the security of American platforms, since in the United States espionage is explained by security. “You assume that security is privacy, my right not to be monitored. But the government describes surveillance of you as security,” said Pavel Durov.

Tucker Carlson published a 58-minute interview with Pavel Durov today, April 16. Creator of Telegram explainedthat he agreed to the interview in order to be objective with the audience, since the journalist is known for his conservative views.
