A spokesman for Warner Bros has announced that Dune 2 has been pushed back from November to March 15, 2024. It is also reported that the premiere of the animated film “The Lord of the Rings” was postponed from April to December next year. The reason for the delay was the strike of Hollywood actors, which prevents their participation in events related to the promotion of films, according to Reuters.
The first strike was announced by the Writers Guild of America in May. The union was in talks with studio representatives to extend the current agreement. The main demands were higher payouts and a ban on replacing people with neural networks such as ChatGPT. Movie studios and streaming services also failed to reach an agreement with the actors, and the Federation of Television and Radio Artists of the United States went on strike on July 14. As a result, the shooting of films and TV shows in Hollywood has almost completely stopped.
