The demand for anti-drone guns has increased tenfold over the past six months, so about 20–50 devices worth 130 thousand rubles or more are sold per week, one of the sellers working for Avito told Kommersant: foundations and organizations, for example, that send devices to the territory of a military operation.” The seller clarified that he himself buys systems in China.
Another interlocutor of Kommersant, who also sells anti-drone guns at Avito, confirmed an increase in demand “several times over the past three days.”
The range of classifieds, marketplaces and online stores includes anti-drone guns of various prices, for example, the Harpy 120W-170W blocker costs 115–310 thousand rubles. It uses narrow-band jamming and RF suppression to interrupt the drone’s communication with the remote controller. Ozon and Wildberries declined to comment. In “Yandex.Market” and “Avito” did not answer “Kommersant”. The demand for anti-drone guns has really increased, and there has been an increase in purchases of devices that block GPS signals, Alexander Kaniovsky, First Deputy CEO of FlyDrone, confirms.
At the same time, the interlocutor of Kommersant from among the sellers on Avito emphasizes that the devices displayed on the classifieds and marketplaces are not suitable for blocking drones that attacked Moscow: “Only air defense can handle such devices.”
Drones can be detected using radio direction finders (specialized antennas), radars, locators, and so on, explains Vitaly Munirov, general director of Kursir LLC (a company participating in the NTI Aeronet market): “Sometimes a whole complex is used when the camera is combined with a direction finder or with radar. In terms of price, the camera is the cheapest system for detection, the locator is the most expensive.”
