Drama “All Quiet on the Western Front” directed by Berger wins BAFTA Award for Best Film

On Sunday, the BAFTA announced that All Quiet on the Western Front, directed by German director Edward Berger, won two awards: Best Film and Best Non-English Language Film.
The film is based on the novel of the same name by Erich Maria Remarque and tells about the cruelties and horrors of the First World War. Director Berger also received the award for Best Director, and the film’s sound and music were also awarded.
In addition, BAFTA honored Best Actor and Actress for Cate Blanchett for her role in the drama “Tar” and Austin Butler for his role as Elvis Presley in the movie “Elvis”. The documentary “Navalny” by Canadian director Daniel Roer also received a prize in the category “Best Documentary”.
The BAFTA was founded in 1947 by British director David Lean and is one of the most prestigious film awards in the world.
