Donbass metallurgists will increase steel production in Russia by 3-5 million tons per year

Metallurgical enterprises of the regions annexed to Russia – the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions – will help increase steel production in the country by about 3-5 million tons per year in the next eight years. This follows from the strategy for the development of metallurgy until 2030 approved by the government at the end of December 2022.
In the base scenario of the strategy, which includes new regions, in 2023 steel output will grow by 4.2% to 76.6 million tons. at the level of the previous year and will amount to 73.8 million tons. Thus, in the new version of the document, the production forecast is increased by 2.8 million tons.
