Moscow Domodedovo Airport switched equipment for managing baggage handling to domestic software. This was told to Vedomosti by the director of the department of transport and logistics of Reksoft, Alexander Semenov, and confirmed by a representative of Domodedovo. The system was put into operation in the new T2 terminal to serve international flights. This is the first time that foreign equipment has been launched at a major airport using Russian software.
For the terminal, equipment was previously purchased from the Dutch company Vanderlande Industries, which left the Russian market in March 2022. Due to the fact that the vendor did not install software on the equipment, the airport decided to replace the software part with a domestic product that is able to control foreign hardware, Semenov explained. Reksoft just acted as an integrator for this project, a Domodedovo representative added to Vedomosti.
