Documentary Film Center in Moscow has suspended its work

The Moscow Documentary Film Center (CDK) has temporarily suspended its work, according to site cinema. The reason for the closure and the timing of the possible resumption of the organization’s activities are not specified.
“The cinema cannot continue to operate due to reasons beyond our control,” reads a notice on the CDC website. There is no information about the closure on the social networks of the organization.
As stated on the resources of the center, the CDK is the first documentary cinema in Russia. It also closed in July and early August of this year without specifying the reasons. At various times, films by independent directors were shown in the cinema, including those dedicated to the activities of opposition politicians and the media. In March, the CDC hosted a special screening of the film “Damn Job” about the history of the Dozhd TV channel (recognized as a foreign media agent), in 2017 the film “Too Free Man” about politician Boris Nemtsov was shown at the center.
