The Dobry brand, which produces juices and carbonated drinks, including cola-flavored ones, has overtaken the Coca-Cola brand in sales in Russia, reported RBC citing data from research company NielsenIQ on sales of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).

From the study it follows that the Dobry brand, drinks under which are bottled at former Coca-Cola factories, became second in the ranking of the 50 best-selling consumer goods in the Russian Federation for the period from January to August 2023. It is noted that Dobroye accounts for 1.2% of total FMCG sales in value terms. The leader of the rating, the Winston tobacco brand, owns 2.2% of the market for everyday goods, the publication reports.

NielsenIQ noted that the brands Coca-Cola (with a sales share of 0.9%) and PepsiCo (0.5%), which in 2021 occupied sixth and 18th places in the ranking, respectively, are in the top 50 largest in 2023 no goods arrived. Carbonated drinks under these brands are no longer officially produced and sold in Russia; now they are imported from other countries in smaller volumes and at a higher price.

Back in January and February 2023 Coca-Cola was in second place in terms of sales (14.1%) of soda in Russia, according to research data from the Prodazhi.rf service and the IT company Evotor. Good Cola then accounted for 33.8% of the carbonated drink market.

The soda market continues to attract investors after Coca-Cola and PepsiCo ceased production in Russia. A new project to produce cola-flavored drinks came from the owner of the Novikov Group restaurant holding, Arkady Novikov. The drink will be produced under the Este.Co brand.
