British director Sam Mendes has announced plans to make four films about members of The Beatles. Each painting will be dedicated to one of the band members – John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
“I’m honored to tell the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and I’m excited to challenge the idea of what going to the movies can be,” said Sam Mendes, as quoted by the publication. Pitchfork.
The films are expected to be released in 2027. The films will be produced and distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment, as well as Neal Street Productions, co-founded by Sam Mendes. The director will also act as a film producer.
Sam Mendes is a British director, producer and playwright. His best-known works include American Beauty (1999), Revolutionary Road (2008), and two James Bond films, Skyfall and Spectre. For the film “American Beauty,” which became his debut work, the director received an Oscar.
