Working with actor Alan Rickman on Dogma (1995) was a bliss, says director Kevin Smith. He admitted that he has been a fan since he saw him in Die Hard.
Kevin Smith noted that he would be glad even if he just worked with him. But for some reason, Rickman singled him out from his environment and considered him a friend.
The director said in an interview The Guardianthat whenever he came to England, the actor called him: “I know you’re here, it’s time to hang out.”
Kevin Smith spoke about the case when Rickman bought real estate in the United States. The actor said that he still “broke” and bought an apartment in New York. The director replied: “Great.” Rickman objected that it was no good, since he had bought a house in the same house as his friend Ralph. Kevin Smith wondered what’s wrong with that?
“This is Ralph Fiennes. If Harry Potter fans find out that Voldemort and Snape live in the same house, they will burn it to the ground,” the actor explained.
Alan Rickman died from cancer in 2016. She gained fame after her role as a terrorist in Die Hard, gained worldwide fame after her role as Professor Severus Snape in the Harry Potter films.
