Theater and film director, multiple winner of the Golden Mask award Alexey Frandetti, in a conversation with MK, responded to the death of People’s Artist of the USSR, artistic director of the Maly Theater Yuri Solomin:
– He was an absolutely honest man, a man with an incredible sense of humor, very bright, and possessing encyclopedic knowledge. Yuri Methodievich’s opinion in the profession was incredibly important to me.
– Alexey Borisovich, are there any figures equal to Solomin left in Russia? What future awaits us all after the passing of a generation of great artists?
“I don’t see anyone equal to him, and I can’t imagine how our theater will develop further. Because Yuri Solomin was an absolute figure – and not only from the point of view of the theater, but from the point of view of culture in general. What will happen next is still unclear.
