Writer Eduard Bagirov died at the age of 47.

The editor-in-chief of RT Margarita Simonyan announced the death of the publicist.

Telegram channel 112 informsthat Bagirov was hospitalized with internal bleeding on April 1 and that he had been in a coma for the last few days. According to some reports, death could come against the background of cirrhosis of the liver – such information appeared in telegram channels with reference to sources.

In the mid-2000s, Bagirov gained fame thanks to his novel “Guest worker”, later the continuation of the storyline came out – “Lovers” and “Idealist” with references to the political events of that period. In the early 2010s, he founded a script bureau.

In 2011, Baghirov was arrested in Chisinau on charges of participating in mass riots in that country against the backdrop of the 2009 elections. After his release, he ended up in Russia, later the Russian Federation refused to extradite the person involved in the case to Moldova. In 2016, a court in Moldova sentenced Bagirov in absentia to five years in prison.
