Director Vadim Abdrashitov died at the age of 79. This was reported to TASS in the Union of Cinematographers of Russia. The cause of death is not named.
Vadim Abdrashitov was the director of the films “Stop Potapov!”, “A Word for Protection”, “The Train Stopped”, “Fox Hunt”, “Parade of Planets”, “Plumbum, or a Dangerous Game”, “Servant”, “Magnetic Storms”, “Dancer Time”
The director was born in 1945 in Kharkov. In 1970 he entered the directing department of VGIK. At first he studied with Mikhail Romm, after his death – with Lev Kulidzhanov. “Stop Potapov!” — term paper of Vadim Abdrashitov. After graduating from VGIK, director Yuli Raizman invited him to work for Mosfilm.
