Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Vladislav Davankov (“New People”) supported the proposal of the Ministry of Economy to introduce a system for assigning “stars” to evaluate enterprises and institutions. The deputy proposed a rating system for catering.
Mr. Davankov sent a proposal to the head of the Ministry of Economy, Maxim Reshetnikov, reports TASS. He explained the initiative by the increasing number of cases of poisoning.
As part of the experiment, the deputy proposed a two-level rating system: a “green star” – for high-quality products and technological standards that exceed existing requirements, a “yellow star” – for regular confirmation of compliance of the preparation process and product quality with SanPiNam and other requirements. The vice-speaker wants the stars to be recorded with a special sticker at the catering point and the information to be transferred to the aggregators of food outlets.
Mr. Davankov believes that this assessment system will reduce the risks of poisoning “without increasing the burden on entrepreneurs.” In the future, he proposes to extend the assessment system to other enterprises.
Deputy Head of the Ministry of Economy Alexey Khersontsev previously said that the department is developing a system of “stars” to evaluate enterprises and institutions based on the results of preventive visits by regulatory authorities. The ministry cited as an example the possibility of stickers on the doors of schools or catering establishments.
