Deputy Prime Minister Chernyshenko invited Chinese partners to simplify licensing for Russian online games in the country

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, speaking at the Russian-Chinese business forum in Shanghai today, May 23, suggested that his colleagues from China jointly regulate the licensing of video games for the Russian project Games of the Future.
“I invite our partners from China to study the issue of regulating licensing in this area. Chinese games should also be licensed for Games of the Future.” The vice premier also suggested holding the next Future Games in 2025 in China.
The Games of the Future in Kazan under the auspices of the government are scheduled for 2024. The competition is positioned as international. Among the declared video game disciplines are Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Dota 2, Mortal Kombat 11 and others. In February, Dmitry Chernyshenko announced that 256 teams from different countries would take part in the competition. The Chinese company Moonton, which develops the video game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, informedthat she has no agreements with the organizers of the Games of the Future championship.
During his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister also suggested considering the issue of granting appropriate licenses to Russian developers to work on the Chinese market. Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadayev, said that the ministry was preparing a program to support the export of domestic video games to China. Russian developers asked authorities to speed up the procedure for passing the censorship of Chinese regulators, bypassing the general queue, otherwise, according to their estimates, approval will have to wait three to five years.
