Deputy director of the Imperial Russian Ballet Vytautas Taranda died on March 18. This was announced by the executive director of the ballet Magomed Kulbuzhev.

“Unfortunately, yes, yesterday at lunchtime. Sudden death,” said “RIA News” Mr. Kulbuzhev. He added that there is no information about the date of farewell and funeral yet.

According to the Telegram channel Mashthe preliminary cause of death of the 58-year-old choreographer is acute heart failure.

Vytautas Taranda graduated from the Moscow Academic Choreographic School. In 1983–1994 he worked at the Bolshoi Theater. In 2003, he was educated at the State Institute of Theater Arts as a teacher-choreographer. He was awarded the Order of Diaghilev, 1st class, for his contribution to art. In 1994, his brother Gediminas Taranda created the Imperial Russian Ballet.
