Asked about Europe 1, the former Minister of Culture says she has “hard to imagine an editorial on classical music” may result in a conflict of interest.
Invited this Wednesday morning on Europe 1, in the show “The Summer Club”, Roselyne Bachelot was asked about her retraining in the media planned for the start of the school year. If she received the green light from the High Authority for the transparency of public life (HATVP) to join RTL, the former Minister of Culture did not in fact obtain it to write a column on France Musique. While ensuring to be completely “obedient”she was surprised, not without irony, by this decision:I find it hard to imagine that holding an eight-minute editorial on classical music could constitute interference with the management (of public radio, editor’s note)… Unless you watch Madame Sibyle Veil in the corridors ( president of Radio France, Ed).»
“Making a weekly editorial and a podcast on the France Musique station is incompatible with his former government duties”, read in the decision rendered on July 12 by the HATVP. In question, the membership of the station to the antennas of the public service, at the head of which Roselyne Bachelot was as Minister of Culture and Communication. This notice of incompatibility will expire three years after the end of the exercise of his governmental functions, i.e. at the end of May 2025. The authority, on the other hand, dismisses the “risk of illegal taking of interests” concerning his arrival on RTL, in “Les Grosses Têtes”, and on BFMTV.

On Europe 1, Roselyne Bachelot wondered how François Braun, emergency doctor and current Minister of Healthas well as Sylvie Retailleau, professor and current Minister of Higher Education and Research, when they will have to leave their functions. “I find it hard to imagine what will happen (…) Are we going to ban François Braun from practicing in a public hospital, since he had the public hospital in management? (…) Will Mrs. Sylvie Retailleau be able to regain her role as a professor in a public university?

On BFMTV, Roselyne Bachelot will be present in three different shows, talking with Maxime Switek in the evening, Jean-Baptiste Boursier on Sundays and Alain Duhamel in “Face à Duhamel”. On RTL, the former Minister of Health of François Fillon will find her chair as a member of the “Big Heads” two years after sitting there for the last time. She makes fun, she claims moreover, of those who would find it unworthy of an ex-minister to join the team of Laurent Ruquier : “Frankly, the piss-vinegar and the trouble-to-cum, I have nothing to shine!»
