Less than a day after the announcement of partial mobilization in Russia, citizens bought up all the air tickets to Dubai, Yerevan, Astana and Istanbul for the next few days. Sources of Kommersant in the industry directly attribute the surge in demand by 10-15 times to the fact that passengers are afraid of possible travel restrictions. Lawyers say that only those who have received a summons can not be released yet. Tickets for the most popular destinations are available for next week, but their prices have increased by up to 15 times.

As Kommersant calculated, the prices for air tickets from Russia to certain popular international destinations jumped 10-15 times on September 21 against the backdrop of the announcement of partial mobilization. According to Kommersant’s interlocutors in airlines, the dynamics of demand and price growth in general terms repeats the peak bursts of early March. Demand for flights on September 21 tripled compared to the average of recent weeks, says a Kommersant source in the air ticket booking market. The dynamics was provided mainly by foreign destinations: Kazakhstan, Armenia, Turkey, Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates. “They were among the popular before, but today they have reached the top, overtaking domestic Russian ones,” he explained.

“Kommersant” monitored prices on certain routes with a departure on September 22, September 30 and October 7, assessing the situation at 01:00 on September 21 and at 19:00 Moscow time on the same day. On the night of September 21, Red Wings sold tickets from Moscow to Yerevan from 16 thousand rubles – by the time of publication, prices started from 154.7 thousand rubles. The flight on September 30 went up from 12 thousand to 85 thousand, on October 7, tickets from 12.2 thousand rubles remained on sale. Azimuth night tickets from 16,000 have ended – the next available flights from September 25 to 30 start from 97,000 rubles.

On the Aeroflot website, tickets for direct flights to Yerevan were sold out in half a day with a price of 26 thousand rubles, now a flight with a transfer on board Rossiya in Sochi costs from 122.5 thousand rubles. for business class. For the same flights on September 30 and October 7, Aeroflot raised the price tag from 19 thousand to 62 thousand rubles. As of September 30, Utair direct flights went up from 16,000 to 50,000 rubles. FlyOne Armenia raised prices from 15 thousand rubles. up to €2.4 thousand (144 thousand rubles): there are no seats left for September 22, four tickets are available for September 23.

Flights to Istanbul on September 22 are also almost completely sold out. On the evening of September 21, there were only two opportunities to fly on this date: a charter direct flight “Yamal” for 329 thousand rubles. (at night it cost 26 thousand rubles) and an Emirates flight with a transfer in Dubai for 213 thousand rubles. It was possible to fly with Red Wings for 35 thousand rubles – now the next flight on September 23 costs 152 thousand rubles without luggage.

Aeroflot flights are sold out until September 26, tickets start at 77,000 rubles. IrAero raised prices for the coming dates from 80,000 to 214,000 rubles, which cost 81,000 rubles a day ago. Turkish Airlines tickets are sold out until September 25 and start at 173 thousand rubles. in business class. Azimut sold all tickets until September 28, their price increased from 35,000 to 61,000 rubles.

The cheapest flight to Dubai a day ago was offered by Azerbaijan Airlines with a transfer in Baku for 22,000 rubles. On the night of September 21, the last “direct ticket” on Emirates cost 90 thousand, the remaining flights were available for 170-300 thousand rubles.

From October 1, Aeroflot launches flights there, at night their sales start from 51 thousand rubles. without luggage – now from 127 thousand. From September 28, from Moscow with a transfer to the Rossiya in Sochi and other cities, you can fly from 108 thousand rubles, but one or two tickets for the flight remain.

The picture is similar for other popular destinations. In particular, direct Aeroflot flights to Astana on the night of September 21 cost from 25 thousand rubles, now the nearest available flight is on September 27, from 165 thousand in business class (performed by Rossiya). Aeroflot flights to Minsk, from where you can fly to Tbilisi, have risen in price from 6,000 to 44,000 rubles a day.

Although the sharp increase in demand was provoked by Russians’ fear of a possible closure of borders amid mobilization, according to Kommersant’s interlocutors at several airports, on September 21 there were no cases when a passenger was not put on an international flight for a similar reason.

The largest airlines did not respond to Kommersant’s request.

Due to a shortage of tickets for scheduled flights, travelers may start booking tours that include block seats. “The main bookings are for the next three weeks: perhaps some of the tourists are considering staying abroad, but clients do not inform us about this,” says Kommersant’s interlocutor in the travel market. Another source of “Kommersant” does not fix the rush sales of tours: “Traditionally, against the background of such emotional upheavals, they fall by 50-70% for several days.”

Representative of OnlineTur.ru Igor Blinov notes that on September 21, it was about the increase in the number of requests for tours abroad, but not about their conversion into real sales. According to the representative of Intourist, Daria Domostroyeva, clients were massively interested in the possibility of canceling tours, “asked what to do, whether travel abroad was allowed at all.”

Exit restrictions apply only to those who have received a summons from the military commissariat – they are listed in the consolidated register of the Ministry of Defense, which is available to the FSB border service, explains Yegor Redin, managing partner of the law firm Position of Law. Until additional clarifications appear, he said, “only this rule applies.” Kommersant sent a request to the FSB Border Service. At the same time, the Russian Union of the Travel Industry recommended that travel companies include a clause in contracts with customers, according to which travelers themselves must verify whether they have the right to travel outside the country, said Georgy Mokhov, head of the legal committee of the organization.
