Delivery Club will change its name and expand the categories of goods for delivery

Yandex will increase investments in the development of Delivery Club, which became part of the company in 2022, and will rebrand the service. It will receive a new name – “Market Delivery”, – the message says.
The service will retain the delivery of ready-made food from restaurants, but will develop other areas, including express delivery of electronics, household goods, etc.
By information newspaper Kommersant, the rebranding of the service is scheduled for June. The amount of investment in this case will be at least 500 million rubles, says Mikhail Burmistrov, CEO of Infoline-Analytics. In his opinion, the new name also suggests a closer connection in the future between “Market Delivery” and “Yandex Market”. At the same time, Delivery Club emphasized in a conversation with the publication that the terms of cooperation for couriers and service partners will not change after the rebranding.
The deal to buy Delivery Club and sell the Zen recommendation platform and the Novosti aggregator was closed by Yandex in September 2022. Media assets were transferred to VK. Details of the asset exchange between Sberbank, VK and Yandex became known on August 23 of the same year. VK announced that it would withdraw from O2O Holding, a joint venture with Sberbank, and get 100% in the Delivery Club service, which was subsequently transferred to Yandex. In exchange, VK received media assets – a news aggregator and Zen, as well as the address yandex.ru.
The total revenue of Yandex at the end of 2022 increased by 46% and amounted to 521.7 billion rubles, adjusted net profit — 10.8 billion rubles. In the first quarter of 2023, Yandex’s revenue increased by 54% compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to 163.3 billion rubles.
