Delivery Club became the property of Yandex

The new owner of the food delivery service and products Delivery Club became “Yandex”, follows from the data of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities.
According to an extract from the registry, Yandex now owns a 99.95% stake in Delivery Club LLC, the remaining 0.05% remained with Yandex’s subsidiary GIS Technologies LLC. The deal was completed on 8 September.
Approval of the Federal Antimonopoly Service for the transaction on the sale of Delivery Club “Yandex” and VK received at the end of August. The agency also approved VK’s petition to acquire the Novosti news aggregator and the Zen recommendation platform.
Details of the asset swap between Sberbank, VK and Yandex became known on August 23. VK has announced that it will withdraw from O2O Holding, a joint venture with Sberbank, and will receive 100% of Delivery Club, which will subsequently be transferred to Yandex. In exchange for the VK delivery service, media assets will be transferred – the news aggregator and Zen, as well as the yandex.ru address. The main page of Yandex will move to the ya.ru domain, which will become the main entry point to Search, Mail and other company services, including the user’s personal account.Yandex ID,” Vedomosti reported, citing the press service of Yandex.
According to the forecasts of the analytical agency Infoline, the combination of assets “Yandex.Lavki”, “Yandex.Edy” and Delivery Club will allow Yandex to take third place in sales in the Russian food technology market after Sberbank with its Sbermarket and Samokat and VkusVilla.
Sberbank will retain the remaining assets of O2O Holding, including Citydrive carsharing, Samokat and Kitchen on the District food delivery services, and Foodplex restaurant business services.
September 6 VK and “Yandex“launched a beta version of the Dzen.ru portal, available to users. The final version of the portal will be presented after the deal is closed, VK reported.
