This hot Saturday at the Maryse-Hilsz sports center, near Porte de Montreuil, in Paris, groups of girls from all over France defend the colors of Bayern de Monique, Toofball Club de Caen and Olympique Montmartre. The tournament is organized by Les Dégommeuses, the pioneer of these lesbian teams, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary. In touch, Alice Coffin, Europe Ecology-Les Verts de Paris adviser, is waiting for her match.

In her red VG jersey, surrounded by her own, Alice Coffin lives “a lesbian moment”. She is over the moon.

Imagine 200 lesbian, non-binary and transgender players in a stadium for them. They are all alone. Not a cisgender man in the landscape. For the uninitiated, a non-binary is someone who refuses to be assigned a gender and a cisgender is an individual whose gender identity matches the one they were assigned at birth, unlike a transgender. “Those who generally occupy all the football pitches”, says Alice Coffin.
As a child, in Paris, she was jealous of her three football-mad brothers. Their shorts, their starry knees, the club spirit, everything made her dream. “But I had internalized that I would never play. It was forbidden, like being a lesbian. » Tall and well planted, warm and touchy, she has been playing libero since she released her libido, around the age of 20. “Libero is the last defender before the goal, he is there to collect and restart, she explains. Basically, it’s like in my life: as soon as there is an interstice, I find the pass and I raise. »
