The pilot, Robert Sachs, also died.

The single-engine plane had just taken off from Bequia, which is popular with tourists, before the crash, bound for St. Lucia, about 100 kilometers away, police said in a statement.

The police named the dead daughters of the Hollywood actor: 10-year-old Madita Klepser and Annik Klepser, who was 12 years old.

According to the police, it is not yet entirely clear what caused the accident, Sky News notes.

St. Vincent-based news outlet Searchlight reports that Sachs radioed the tower shortly after takeoff to tell them he was having trouble and was turning back. This was the last message.

Fishermen and divers from the area went to the wreck site to assist the St. Vincent and the Grenadines coastguard in the search.

Police said: “We commend the dedicated and brave actions of the fishermen and divers.”

The bodies of the crash victims were transported to St. Vincent and taken to the Kingstown mortuary where autopsies will be carried out to determine the cause of death.

According to Sky News: Oliver, 51, whose real name is Christian Klepser, has played dozens of roles in film and television, including the 2008 film Speed ​​Racer and The Good German, a 2006 film about the Second World War in which George Clooney and Cate Blanchett also star.

He appeared in the second season of the 1990s series Saved by the Bell: The New Class, playing a Swiss transfer student named Brian Keller.

Christian recently played a role in the latest installment of the Indiana Jones franchise.

Originally from Frankfurt, the actor played a detective in Cobra Alert 11, a long-running police drama on German television in the early 2000s.

On Monday, Oliver posted a photo of the beach at sunset on social media, wishing followers a happy new year “from somewhere in heaven.” According to local reports, he arrived with his daughters in the Caribbean on December 26.

In a New Year’s post, Oliver captured the sunset off Bequia, a small Caribbean island that is part of St. Vincent. A family was silhouetted in the foreground against the calm tropical waters in the distance, and a catamaran floated on the surface with the words: “Let love rule. Wishing you all the best for 2024.”
