“Daughter” Paulig in Russia began the production of coffee at a plant near Tver

MilFoods (subsidiary of Paulig) started coffee production in Russia under the new Poetti brand, informs press service of the government of the Tver region on its official website.
According to Sergey Yushin, director of the MilFoods supply chain, the Poetti Daily Classic Crema coffee brand in 1 kg packaging was the first to roll off the assembly line. It will appear on store shelves in September, he said.
The enterprise is located on the territory of the Borovlevo-2 industrial park near Tver, the report says. The plant is capable of producing 25 million tons of coffee annually, employing more than 100 people. Grains are delivered from more than 10 countries of the world, directly from manufacturers.
At the moment, the company still produces only grain and ground coffee, but in 2023 it plans to launch a line of instant coffee. The expected volume of investments will be 135 million rubles.
The first presentation of the new coffee brand took place at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2022 as part of a meeting between Governor Igor Rudeni and MilFoods management.
Finnish company Paulig closed a deal to sell the Russian part of the business back in May. The plant came under the control of MilFoods, but Paulig did not transfer his own brands and recipes to her. The amount of the transaction was not reported.

The low harvest, the newspaper notes, could exacerbate the shortage of international supplies and contribute to a new rise in prices. According to Brazilian coffee broker Cazarini Trading Co, Thiago Cazarini, global Arabica prices are likely to rise as estimates for this year’s crop in Brazil begin.
