Alpro plant-based drinks from Health & Nutrition (H&N, a Danone subsidiary transferred to Russian management) will be produced under the Planto brand in Russia, the company said.

“Alpro are localized on the Russian market under the new name Planto. The changes will only affect the brand name,” the message says (quote according to TASS).

A day earlier at H&N reported about the renaming of Actimel – now the probiotic fermented milk product will be sold under the Actimuno brand.

Danone’s Russian business was transferred to local management in October 2022. On July 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which shares in the Russian subsidiary owned by foreign companies are transferred to temporary management of Russia.

This summer, Danone announced a write-off of 200 million euros after the transfer of assets to Russian management. On September 21, Danone Russia was renamed Health & Nutrition.

In July Vedomosti wrotethat Danone Russia has submitted applications to Rospatent to register the trademarks Maximel, Actimunis and Actibifidus in classes 28, 30 and 32 of the International Classification of Goods and Services. Previously, the company had already stopped producing yogurts and curds in Russia under the Activia brand, renaming it “Aktibio”.
