The French manufacturer of dairy products Danone is considering various opportunities to adapt its brands to the Russian market, the company’s press service reported. The day before, Izvestia reported that Danone was going to abandon international brands in Russia.
“We are exploring various options on how to make international brands more relevant to the local market,” the press service said in a statement (quoted from TASS).
According to information Izvestia, Danone may withdraw its international brands Activia, Alpro, Actimel and Danone from the Russian market. Instead, the company can use the Prostokvashino trademark.
On October 14 last year, Danone announced its decision to transfer control of assets in Russia. According to Kommersant’s information, possible contenders for the company’s Russian assets are milk producers Ekoniva, Agrocomplex im. N. I. Tkachev and Rumelko Vladimir Lisin, as well as Rusagro and Cherkizovo.
